Where is the Compose Button?

The compose button is the trigger to run the algorithm and create class lists for the new year. Composing class lists is grade level specific.

When does the Compose button appear?

The Compose button appears when the school is in Compose Mode.

Where does the Compose button appear?

The Compose button appears in the upper left corner of a grade's current year Digital Data Wall.

To whom does the Compose button appear?

It depends on whether the school is in Admin Compose or Teacher Compose modes.

• The Compose button will appear to the Admin only when the school is in Admin Compose mode.
• The Compose button will appear to the Admin and Lead Teacher of a grade level when the school is in Teacher Compose mode. However, only the Lead Teacher can run it.
• The compose button will not be visible to non-Lead Teachers.

Instead of the Compose button, I see a View & Edit Compose button.

That means that the Compose button has already been clicked and composing class lists is in progress. Click on the View & Edit Compose button to view or edit next year's class lists on the Compose screen of the upper-grade level.

But wait, we didn't mean to run compose yet. Can we Start Over?

Yes, on the new grade compose screen, click the Start Over button. This will reset the compose step completely. Any composition work (class list refinement through drag and drop) for this grade level will be lost. You will be taken to the current year Digital Data Wall where you can run Compose again.

Don’t worry, this will not impact the data entered on the student cards.
